Our U9 squad took part in an i2i Friday evening tournament. With some great results the ten players involved had an amazing time.
TOURNAMENT DAY 2024
Easingwold Town Football Club held their annual tournament on Saturday 18th May.
With the sun shining we had four pitches, 22 teams and 205 players, making this the biggest yet!
Following the junior matches and medal presentation we held the much-anticipated Coaches V U19 match. For the second year running the Coaches came out victorious. Thank you to all the coaches that took part.
Obviously, a day like this is only successful if we have many volunteers. Thanks go to everyone that played their part on the day. Notable thanks go to: Peter Nottage, Danny Gath, Rich Wells, Gary Goodwin and Chris Crow. We also thank the Walking Football team for helping on the BBQ and Men's Shed group for helping build the new BBQs.
One person who must receive a special mention is Kieran Foster. Kieran is one of our U14 players who recently qualified as a referee. Kieran volunteered to referee the Coaches V U19 match and did an amazing job, we are very proud of him. (May 2024)
EASINGWOLD TOWN U7’s LEAGUE VICTORY!
The U7’s had one 5v5 team in the league this season. Starting in the ‘A’ division for the Autumn Cup, the team had variable results as they settled into the format. Moving into the ‘B’ division during the Winter phase of the season, the team went from strength to strength gaining promotion for the final phase of the season. Playing stronger teams in the final phase was a real test for the team, which they all took in their stride and we saw great development both individually and also as a squad. The team had done so well they found themselves in the final which was played at Poppleton FC. Facing Bishopthorpe, every one of the ten squad member was involved in the final match which made the victory even more special. Winning this final means that Easingwold Town U7’s were the best team in the entire York and District league, a great achievement for their first season. The photo shows the U7 squad with their winners medals and trophy. Thanks go to kit sponsor Tiddlywinks Private Day Nursery.
The U7’s have also have an additional training squad, which train with the match day squad on a weekly basis. Currently at 17 players this squad has shown great development this season and it means that the future for Easingwold Town Junior football is looking as strong as ever. We do hope that these numbers will allow for a second team to be entered in the league next season, allowing more children to have match experience.
The end of the season was celebrated with fun football matches and hotdogs followed by a medal presentation. Thanks go to Simon and Ollie who have been so committed to the team this season and their hard work has certainly paid off. (May 2024)
Easingwold Town U10’s
With two 7v7 teams competing in the York and District league it was great to have so many players involved in U10’s matches this season. In addition to the two match day squads, the additional players attending training has remained consistent throughout the season, which means the squad will enter two 9v9 teams into the league next season. This is a great achievement for a rural club such as Easingwold, and all involved are very proud to be involved with such a dedicated group of players.
A special achievement of the season was when the Hawks reached the final of the Autumn Cup. Playing Fulford away, the two teams had always been evenly matched in previous encounters and the match inevitably ended in a draw leading to penalties. Easingwold came out victorious and were awarded the Autumn Cup. Pictured are the squad members with the trophy.
The season ended with both teams competing well. A few players took part in an event run by York City which saw the team come runners up and all the players then got to watch a York City match, which was a great experience.
To round things off, the squad had an evening of fun football and hot dogs followed by a medal presentation. The squad will continue to train over the summer and are already taking part in 9v9 friendlies in preparation for next season.
Thanks must go to the group of coaches, who worked hard to deliver fun but effective sessions for the players: Andy Bulleyment, Paul Floyd, Lee Cottrell, Rich Graves, Mark Parris and Craig Herbert.
We would like to thank our kit sponsors: Rockin’ All Over the Wold and RET Electrical and Maintenance. (April 2024)
Congratulations to U14 Kieran Foster. Kieran recently completed his referee qualification and has impressed our coaches with his composure and conviction as a referee. Kieran was also in action yesterday at the York and District finals day, held at Poppleton FC. Well done Kieran! (April 2024)
